SUM teamed up with Lobo Motor Sports at the University of New Mexico to develop a new logo and marketing/ awareness campaign for the Formula SAE program. The Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) is the largest international engineering competition in the world. Each year, teams from Universities around the globe must design, build, and test a small-scale formula car, considering all phases of design: cost, schedule, and performance. The project culminates in an international engineering competition, where the car and team are ranked according to engineering design, manufacturability, racing performance, marketing and business strategy.
The new logo is part of a comprehensive awareness campaign being developed by SUM and launching early fall as well as fund raising initiatives for the 2009 team.
The only requirement of the new logo was to incorporate the preexisting Lobo Head logo.
