2008 Addy Awards
Posted in: Albuquerque | Industry | SUM Stuff

There's nothing quite like winning a bushel of ice cold Addys.
Every year the New Mexico Advertising Federation hosts the Annual Addy Awards. The Addys recognize creative excellence in advertising here in NM. This year the ceremony brought dozens of industry folks together on March 7th at the Convention Center to celebrate. The work is judged by a panel of, you guessed it, judges, weeks earlier. The judges are brought in from around the US who themselves are highly awarded, recognized, and accomplished industry peeps. The judges for this year's competition included Kat Street of Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, Colo.; Kevin Lynch of Zig in Chicago; Jonathan Schoenberg of TDA Advertising & Design in Boulder, Colo.; and Bill Gardner of Gardner Design in Wichita, Kansas.
This year, SUM Agency walked away with 5 awards for work in multiple categories: Public Service Campaign, Non-traditional / Out of Home, Interactive Media Flash website, Out-Of-Home and Industry Self Promotion. All but the self promo (which was for our 2007 interactive Christmas card) Addy went to our work for United Way of Central New Mexico Giving Campaign.
We always have a good time at the Addys. It gives us a chance to kick it with our creative peers, listen to some good music, eat some tasty food--and going home with a few awards always tops it off nicely. Congratulations to all the other agencies on their winnings especially McKee Wallwork Cleveland who took home Best of Show-- way to not suck guys.
